New Mailchimp Review 2020

MailChimp Pricing and Features

Mailchimp pricing makes it a no brainer for all businesses to try before they buy the service. The free plan seems like a great starting point with a long and noticeably generous list of features when compared to their competition, including the seven marketing channels, 1-click automation, basic templates, marketing CRM, surveys, websites, and the custom domains. It is really an attractive and free way for you to get a taste of what Mailchimp has to offer you in terms of email marketing along with the CRM and automation features.
The approach of CRM informs the scaling of subscription prices based on the number of your contacts. The free level works for up to two thousand contacts and maxing out at ten thousand monthly emails sends, which is enough for a test run or a campaign. Businesses that will need bigger capacities can enter the number estimated subscribers on the provided calculator tool available on their website to get an accurate price.

Mailchimp Pricing

Mailchimp changed its pricing structure as part of its improvements to the full-service platform. Small businesses that have two thousand contacts can opt for the free version, that offers basic templates and marketing CRM. The essential package starts at $9.99 a month and is geared toward heavy email users, along with making all Mailchimp templates available. The essential package accommodates up to fifty thousand contacts along with A/B spilt testing.
The standard package will add custom coded templates and automation for $14.99 a month. This standard plan is for businesses that have up to a hundred thousand contacts. The premium package costs $299.99 a month that includes multivariate testing that will involve sending many emails out to the same people to test the effectiveness.
You will also get custom domains, add-on domains, advance segmentation, that create groups of contacts based on set specific conditions.

The high-end plans offer more incisive automation options along with a wider range of customer insights. The premium package further distinguishes itself with phone support along with comparative reporting that are unavailable in other levels.
This plan supports a marketing database of more than two hundred thousand contacts. Mailchimp’s plans offer lots of contacts within each pricing level. Also, Mailchimp added phone support as part of the premium package service. Mailchimp’s standard plan at $14.99 can integrate up to fifty thousand contacts compared with the $19.95 price point campaigner for up to five thousand contacts, which is still a good deal. There is no cap on how many email messages you can send with the paid plans in Mailchimp services. Remember this about paying as you go plans, if you cancel your account or Mailchimp shuts you down for spam, you will not get refunded for your unused email credits, that are credited toward your limits on the number of emails you can send.

Improving Mailchimp Platform

Mailchimp relaunched to offer businesses a suite of services rather than a single feature like email marketing. Mailchimp boasts the ability to let their customers avoid fragmentation of services; the audience data is spread across services like Facebook and Instagram. Mailchimp added CRM capabilities, website builders, buying domains, and hosting, along with added automation to try competing with the heavy hitters in the marketing automation industry.

Another improvement of Mailchimp is allowing you to target customers through ads on Instagram and Facebook and incorporates artificial intelligence to provide smarter recommendations on how to optimize an email marketing campaign. Mailchimp will provide alerts for pay-as-you-go clients and chat support for paying customers. If you are a pay-as-you-go customer, you can opt into receiving alerts when reaching a certain threshold, and you can automatically reload credits when they are running low.

Mailchimp will also let you use your subscriber data from the service to create custom ads on Instagram and Facebook. Offers a Facebook ad builder within the Mailchimp dashboard along with a way to track data on who accesses your ads. Many direct-to-consumer businesses and brands exist solely on Facebook and Instagram, where they drive the majority of their eCommerce sales.

To explore the Facebook lead campaigns, go to the campaigns tab in the Mailchimp dashboard, and click on “Create Ad Campaign.” Next, select the Facebook Instagram ad and enter a name for your campaign. This process is easy to follow. Afterward, you must agree and accept the terms of use, along with specifying the audience and your budget. The ad builder includes a drop-down that will allow you to choose a call to action, “Book now,” “Shop Now,” or even “Learn More.” The final step is entering your billing information.

The automation feature allows you to send out autoresponder notes to customers like birthdays or abandon carts. You will find the process of creating automated messages easy to navigate. The email template guide has coded examples along with other tips for creating useful emails. Unless you understand CSS and HTML, it is recommended to avoid the HTML editor and stick with the provided template designs. We found the editor to be complicated even with the offered helpful materials. The templates are easy enough with their full drag-and-drop support for outside assets.

We tested with a sample newsletter on summer sandal deals using existing templates and sent them to ten recipients from our contact list. The templates email designing tool to easy to use and straightforward. It is also easy to import images with added text. When using a template and you forget to edit a section of the template, you will be prompted to do before sending your email. You will be able to schedule along with specifying the number of batches. Mailchimp offers strong analytics. In your dashboard, there is a section for “Predicted Demographics,” that will predict the demographics of your contacts. When tested, we could see the report showing average order revenue, total revenue, and open rates. This process is easy to follow. You will be able to download the reports that will show successful deliveries, total recipients, number of opens, and clicks.

I have been reading about several email marketing service providers such as AWeber and GetResponse.

But these features MailChimp has been including among their services has made me consider them as a very serious option. I really like the option of posting on Twitter or Facebook after sending out emails. Thanks for this helpful review.

I have been looking for a good email marketing company for a long time and I keep coming back to Mailchimp.  There are so many out there which makes it hard to decide sometimes.

I did read somewhere that Mailchimp doesnt treat companies with affiliate links to well.  Is that an actual fact?

Thank you for a great review.  Now all I need to know is the answer to my question so that I can make a decision.

Thank you

Hi Jannette,

Thank you for new mailchimp review.  We used mailchimp to our website before, but now we are using getresponse just to try out their products.  Comparing getresponse price – basic for USD 15 and mailchimp price – standard USD 14,99 is actually not so much different.  If you got more than 500 mailing list, getresponse is cheaper.  At the moment, we are not so sure which email automation sofware we are going to choose, do you have any suggestion for us? We are at building our list stage, and we want to be able to integrate with wordpress, and social media.

It’s really nice to read through this article about MailChimp review, email marketing companies are of different types and rates, what makes them different is the packages they offer, I think MailChimp is still nice and quite affordable but it’s possible it’s not for all affiliate programs. One thing I look out for in email marketing companies is there potential to identify spam. Thanks

Another piece of revelation here. I know of clickfunnel and Aweber as well as getresponse but this one looks awesome packaging. My question for you is: I own a new and up and coming website, how do I integrate it with my website to get more audience?

I will come back to read your responds for my question. Thank you once again for this incisive review
